BULKCOINS.CO.UK - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Are the coins in a lot all different?
A: No. There is much date duplication. As we do not attempt to count the number of coins from each date (etc.) in a lot, the number of duplicates will vary from lot to lot.

Q: Are the lots completely unsorted?
A: No. We remove the following from the lots:
- Smashed up and other horrible coins (rusty, holed, worn beyond recognition, etc.)
- Rare or valuable coins
The remaining coins are sold as bulk lots without any further sorting (eg by date).

Q: What are your modern world coins like?
A: Mostly European and, as per the description, very largely after 1950. Our customers mainly seem to use them for starter collections and resale (markets, EBay lots, etc). If you already have an extensive collection and are hoping to receive lots of coins from obscure countries in places such as Africa and Polynesia, you are likely to be disappointed.

Q: What are your prices listed in?
A: British pounds sterling (GBP). A handy currency conversion table can be found at http://finance.yahoo.com/m3?u .

Q: Is my payment secure?
A: Your card payment is processed on a secure server by Paypal, a company which almost everyone online is familiar with. Paypal do not give us access to your card details. If, for some reason, you do not wish to use Paypal as payment agent, you may send a Sterling cheque or postal order (or cash, at your risk) to Newcastle Coin Dealers, 7 Nile Street, North Shields, NE29 0BD, U.K.

Q: Why does it say "pykerley@yahoo.co.uk" in your shopping basket?
A: This is our email address, to which your Paypal payment is transmitted.

Q: What is the difference between insured and uninsured shipping?
A: Occasionally, items get lost/stolen in the post, and Royal Mail do not pay compensation when coins (and other "valuables") go missing in transit. If your item gets lost and you have paid for "insured" shipping, we will refund or replace it. If you select "uninsured" shipping, we will NOT refund or replace your order if it goes missing in transit, though we will provide you with a copy of the relevant posting receipt.

Q: When will I receive my order?
A: Orders are normally sent within three business days of receipt, though this can sometimes stretch up to 10 days if we get badly backlogged. Unfortunately, we are a small business with finite resources. The transit time between shipment and delivery tends to be 2-3 days for UK orders and 3-10 days for overseas orders sent via airmail. Orders sent via surface mail to non-European destinations can take 4-8 weeks to arrive.

Q: What happens if you are sold out of a particular lot?
A: In the unlikely occurrence of a lot being unavailable, we will send you a refund.

Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Should you be unhappy with the coins you receive, you may return them to us within 14 days of receipt, and we will refund the price you paid, minus the actual cost of outward postage. Your return postage costs will not be refunded.

Q: We are a VAT-registered business. Can we reclaim VAT on any purchases we make on this website?
A: All second-hand items shipped to UK and EU addresses are sold under HMRC's Global Accounting Scheme, and VAT is therefore included in the purchase price. The VAT will not be shown separately on your purchase receipt. If you do not use HMRC's Global Accounting or Margin Schemes, we do dot believe that you will be able to reclaim any VAT under HMRC rules.

Q: I have a question which is not listed here. Can you answer it?
A: Most probably. Please send an email to newcastlecoin@outlook.com .
